Our History

It all started from Greece

117 YEARS AND STILL COUNTING...

In a tiny hillside village in Neapolis Lakonia Greece in 1907 my grandmother Eleni made doughboys for my aunt Frieda “Mrs. Gus” when she was a little girl1. In 1940 she commercialized it and till we closed in 1985 we sold approximately 20 million doughboys many times 650 dozen a day.

Creator of the Oakland Beach Doughboy 1940,, and the word Doughboy 25 years before Pillsbury named their chubby little dough figure. This fried Greek dough recipe which is a secret today in 2023
